Who is it for?
Digital-workflow beginners and users who want to revisit exocad on reliable foundations.
Prerequisites
Be able to use a computer. No advanced CAD CAM experience is required.
What you will produce
- Receive files by email or through Medit Link, 3Shape Communicate, Unite Cloud, MyiTero and other cloud platforms, then centralise them under one case reference.
- Design a crown, an inlay/onlay, a veneer and a wax-up, then prepare the appropriate models.
- Create the digital model, export a reliable STL and check the settings before 3D printing.
Programme outline
Day 1
Digital case, email and cloud platforms
Introduction to DentalDB and DentalCAD, case creation, scan and occlusion checks. Receiving cases by email or through Medit Link, 3Shape Communicate, Unite Cloud, MyiTero and other cloud platforms. Centralising each case under one reference while preserving its history and sources, separating received, working and export files, and naming and dating versions. Benefits covered: faster follow-up, clear responsibilities and fewer duplicates, lost files and version errors.
Day 2
Crown, inlay/onlay, veneer, wax-up and 3D printing
indication selection, margin tracing, insertion axis, cement gap, thicknesses, internal surface, morphology, contacts and occlusion. Digital wax-up design and preparation of the corresponding study model.
model creation in Model Creator, base, removable dies, labelling, fit checks and STL export. In the slicer: mesh and scale validation, orientation, supports, layer height and printer–resin profile; pre-print review and compliance with the manufacturer’s washing and post-curing protocol.
