Who is it for?
Dental technicians who already produce fixed restorations and want to refine pressing and cosmetic finishing.
Prerequisites
Be able to produce and finish a simple crown.
What you will produce
- Produce a monolithic crown with 2D and 3D staining.
- Produce a crown with facial cut-back and micro-layering.
- Produce and finish an inlay, onlay or overlay.
Programme outline
Day 1
Introduction, preparation and pressing
IPS e.max Press indications, comparison of a stained monolithic crown, a micro-layered cut-back crown and a partial restoration; ingot selection.
assessment of the preparations, wax-pattern preparation, spruing, investing, preheating and pressing of all three restorations at the end of the day.
Day 2
Divesting, aesthetic comparison and finishing
careful divesting, margin protection, reaction-layer removal, separation, fitting and checks; staining of the monolithic crown and facial micro-layering of the second crown.
comparison of brightness, translucency, chroma, depth and shape; characterisation of the inlay, onlay or overlay, textures, glazing, polishing and final checks.
